Hurricane Paloma - not a direct threat to Jamaica.
11/7/2008 9:18:14 AM At 4:00 a.m. this morning, the centre of Hurricane Paloma was located near latitude 17.8 degrees north and longitude 81.7 degrees west. This is about 175 kilometres south-southwest of Grand Cayman and about 410 kilometres west of Montego Bay, Jamaica.

9/2/2008 7:23:57 PM The Jamaica Tourist Board is happy to report it is business as usual for the country’s mainstay, tourism. As there was little or no damage to the island’s resorts and attractions, most entities were up and running during and immediately after the tropical storm. Weather conditions are beautiful and visitors are engaged in normal activities.
